severe back pain with an s1 pain pattern and synovitis

I'm trying to find some answers to what injury i'm dealing with. I've suffered almost two years with severe lower back pains. This last episode went down my back on lower right side into the buttocks down the back of my leg on top of foot with sharp electric like pain and numbness on top of foot.

Welcome to the board. Is the synovitis affected the sacroiliac joints or just where is it located?
Synovitis an inflammation of the lining of a joint, which can cause the joint to enlarge and can also cause fluid build-up. Anything that causes a joint to enlarge can contribute to stenosis, where a nerve can end up getting pinched or irritated.

Lots of things can cause the type of pain you indicate...like disc herniation, spondylolisthesis, spinal stenosis, etc. You may have arthritic changes in the facet joints. Have you had a MRI and are you under the care of a spine specialist?

Have you ever been tested for rheumatoid arthritis?

Hi. Welcome to the board. Good questions for you. I also have DDD, and my pain is usually down my right leg, but, starting kind of on right side of lower back pain. I also have a spinal curvature going on. I'm not a DR. either, but wanted to tell you you're not alone there. I found out this info from my MRI. I've been going to a pain clinic for 2 years now for this. I hope someoone can answer your questions!
