Question RED where acne is. Will anything make the REDNESS DISAPPEAR?

Spots where pimples are stay red even when healing. I've heard that Tea Tree Oil helps stop the redness. Anyone know about this? I've also seen products in the drug store that advertise that they take the redness away. My guess is that that is temporary. Does anyone know of a product or method that will make the redness go away for good? I'd love to be able to go without makeup but can't because of the red spots! Please help!!

I've also heard that cocoa butter can help them fade quicker.. I just left mine and they took about a year to fade.. but I didn't try any of the products!! Good luck!!

The only trick I know is that green covers red but only under foundation. Some of the brands at the drug stores sell concealer sticks in green tint for this reason. It works, but you really have to do some work to make it look natural. I've heard visine helps with redness, but I've never tried it.

I have used visine and it does work, but only temporarily. If I use it then put cream over it, the redness re-appears.

I looked at one of those drugstore products at Target yesterday and it listed the active ingredient as 2% Salicylic Acid, and it was like $12.99! I think it was Neutragena. I don't know what else was in there, but gee, I think I'll just buy some clearasil pads! Maybe there are some natural anti-inflammatory ingredients in there, but now they are making these labels where you can't read the directions or the ingredients without peeling the top label off.

Eucerin makes some good products to get the red out. They have a special line just for this problem. I used them for a while and they took about a week to really start working though my skin felt really good right away. I don't have any more red spots but I still have redness in my cheeks so I use Everyday Minerals to cover that. Cheaper than other mineral makeup and works so well for me that my skin looks like it did when I was 20.

I'm fair and most products are too pasty white or too dark.

Next time I'm out, I'll look for the Eucerin products. Thanks for the info. .

When covering redness with make-up, try Dermablend Smooth Indulgence Redness Concealer. It's pricy, but it works beautifully. Ofcourse after you apply it, there is a green tint to your skin. Try using the Quickfix concealer stick by Dermablend. That is my favorite product (I have severe dark circles and mild acne on my forehead.) And then top it off with any setting powder you choose.

My dermatologist prescribed me Azelex Cream about 2 months ago. Within 3 weeks, about 3/4 of my red marks were gone with many more fading. I'm now using it for maintenance and prevention. This is my God-send product and costs me $10 a tube w/ insurance.

How well and how fast does that calamine and baking soda thing work?

I went to a derm for this exact thing. He first gave me differin (to stop pimples coming), then gave me "AZELEX". It worked very very well for me! Like amazing! You ahve to make ure you put it on every day and it starts to work pretty fast, but after some months you will see dramatic results.
