Max Factor Lipfinity. It costs, like, $10 at WalMart, but it works. Lipfinity is cool--it's like a paint that you apply and let dry (only take a minute or so), and it lasts all day. I have to use Vaseline to get it off. Plus, it comes with a moisturizer stick--"polish"--that you can apply as many times as you want without losing color.

Cover Girl makes Outlast, which you can get at WalMart, too, and it's a little cheaper than Lipfinity. I think it's basically the same thing, but I've never tried it.

Hi, the Colorstay line from Revlon works well for me.
It's been around the longest of any of the lipsticks that claim to last, and I think it's the best. I put it on, blot very lightly, wait a few minutes, put it on again and don't blot...it lasts all day when I layer it this way, even through lunch. Good luck. Only thing I don't like about it is the color choices are all dark and on the brown side, but there are a few that work for me! I use Berry and it's a good all around color, but my skin tones are very fair. If you like burgundy and browns, there are lots to choose from! The other Revlon lipsticks don't stay on AT ALL! The stay on all day one from Almay isn't too bad, but not as good as Colorstay!

Hi!

Believe it or not, Avon makes a line called Perfect Wear, that almost takes oil to remove! It really stays on, as well as the matching lip liners. It's almost dry. You can even put gloss on it and it stays! Beautiful colors, too.

Covergirl Outlast is awesome!!! I tried it that little Lip Art kit and I must say I plan to buy a full size tube...I had to wash my lips with soap and water and then it still didn't want to come off...lol...It definitely stays put.

I saw on HSN they have a product by LipSense that is supposed to stay put and no bleeding.
there is nail polish to match that doesn't chip or peel as well. Haven't tried it but am thinking about it. It looked good on tv anyway!

Re: Lipstick that stays on???

I actually bought two of the Lipfinity colors because I can never keep lipstick on for long. The colors were a little dark for me, as I prefer more neutral, lighter shades, but I did find that if I put on as little as possible to "stain" rather than fully paint the lips, it wasn't as bad.

However, after several days of using it, my lips were so dry they were cracking. When I mentioned it to a friend of mine (thinking the dryness and cracking was because of the cold weather), she told me that she had the same thing happen when she tried the LipFinity lipstick. This lipstick is apparently VERY drying...so much so that the benefit of lasting lipstick is far outweighed by the pain and nasty look of cracked, bleeding lips.

Does anyone have any similar comments, pro or con, about the other ones mentioned? I can't wear Avon..I'm allergic to their products, but was still interested in trying Revlon's, or any other long lasting lipstick if I someone can recommend one that isn't going to wither and crack the lips. Thanks for any suggestions.

Yes I agree too with the AVON perfect wear. It really does stay on and doesn't have an aweful taste or smell like some other lip products have. I just ordered a few more the other day too, they sell for around $6-$7 cdn. Good luck in finding what your looking for.

Hi Dawn...I've never experienced this problem, but what you can try is wearing a lip moisturizer, lip balm or such while sleeping or not wearing lip color. I have been using a lip moiturizer for 15 years now and not only does it prevent chapped or dry lips but I believe my lips are benefiting while aging from the extra care. I even wear a light lip moisturiser under my lipstick too. So perhaps this may help you, certainly worth a try. Good luck to you

Re: Lipstick that stays on???

Thanks for the reply, 4greeneyes. Love the name, by the way! I really should try a lip moisturizer or balm. I used to, but somewhere along the line I stopped. I guess it's time to do it again. Do you or anyone else out there know if putting a light coating of moisturizer on my lips prior to using lipfinity or similar products would negate the long-wearing properties of the lipstick?? Just a thought I had while reading your post, but I wonder if the lipstick wouldn't dry then. Hmm, maybe I'll just give it a try and post on my results so others will know, haha. Thanks again for your suggestion.

Re: Lipstick that stays on???

hi dawn...you raise a good question however I haven't compared wearing a lip moisturiser vs not with the longevity of the lip color. I have used lip moisturisers and chapsticks for so long it's like brushing my teeth I haven't missed a time applying it. The only difference when I apply my lipstick I only use a very thin layer of moisturiser underneath. I can see that there may be a possibility that it wouls affect the duration of the lipcolor, but in my case with the AVON ones it lasts all day for me.
Please keep us posted on your experiment it would be interesting to know how it works for you.

Re: Lipstick that stays on???

Quick update here to my previous post, as it might be of interst to others experiencing the same problem. As posted above, my lips became excessively dry from Lipfinity. Although the color did last all day, I couldn't take the dry, cracked, peeling lips it caused. I have tried several different approaches to using lip balms of different kinds over the last week, prior to applying the Lipfinity.

Bottom line....nothing worked. Once that first layer of balm is on the lips, the Lipfinity lasted no longer than any other lipstick (which on me is about ten minutes,lol)....even if I first tried blotting the balm, lightly powerdering, and anything else I could think of. Oh well, nice suggestion though. Thanks.

Don't know if any of you have tried the Triple Action Lip Enhancer from Mary Kay but that stuff works wonders! I'm kind of partial since I sell it, but I've seen people scrub & scrub right after they put lipstick on trying to get it off & it doesn't budge. It also seals in moisture and prevents the appearance of fine lines in your lips...that's why it's called triple action! HAHA Hope this helps some of y'all.

Re: Lipstick that stays on???

You know those cheap mood lipsticks that are purple, blue or green or some other weird color, I've found those are the best for lasting color without dryness. They actually stain your lips, unfortunately, at least for me they usually come out some really garrishly bright color, so I just use them as a base. What I usually do is to put on a moisturizer (I put it all over my face including the lips) and then do the same with my foundation. Then I use the mood lipstick and completely wipe it off -my lips stay a bright pink, but they feel completely bare. Then I use a pencil and fill in my lips with it (not too heavily though) and then use a colorstay lipstick without blotting or else a regular lipstick and blot and then lightly dust with a complementary eye powder color (or else I cover my lips with a thin tissue and then powder over the tissue) and that's the only way I've found for lasting lip color and still be able to smooch the hubby. I haven't had any trouble with my lips chapping from the colorstay lipsticks although other "lasting" lipsticks I've tried have dried my lips out. If those mood lipsticks aren't too garrish for your coloring I would recommend just using those... they are really amazing. Before I found those I used to use kool aid to stain my lips... a bit tricky (I'd usually end up with a stained finger to match, lol!)

Hiya SCgal ,

I actually use only lip liner. I find the lipsticks that stay are way to dry and get crusty. I line my lips and cover them in lip liner and it will last me most of the day, even through a meal. Give it a try!
