    What has worked for me!

I was hit with Bell's Palsy on Christmas Eve 2014, worst feeling ever. Even worse when you goto the ER and the doctors can't explain why it was happening and didn't know much about it. I was given pain meds, antibiotics and steroids. I have been to 5 different Neurologists because I am still battling with the pain behind my ear. Just recently I have gone to an Endocrinologist for weight/menopause issues, he prescribed me Qysmia. I have lost 10 lbs and the best part was my pain behind my ear subsided. Just last week I finished my prescription and figured I could maintain my weight and work on loosing more on my own, but the neuralgia pain has returned as if I never was on any meds. Believe me I have tried so many meds out there and Qysmia has been the ONLY med that has worked! I have been on phentermine in the past for weight, but I think the combination of the phentermine and topiramate is what helped the nerve pain. I am now going back to the Endocrinologist in hopes of continued prescriptions to ease the pain. I know everyones DNA is different, but do your research, ask a lot of questions and don't ever give up hope that there is help out there. My pain specialist says I have very sensitive nerves and that once injured, it takes a long time to heal and pain comes along with it. I had a biopsy done and i have to have a triple compounded cream made specially for that nerve that was affected. 2 years is long enough, that nerve should've healed by now but I guess not.
