Support Needed for Bipolar

Hey everyone, I've struggled with bipolar for a long time.
I've tried Lithium it was not for me, I ended up just being numb.

Anything helpful is appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Re: Support Needed for Bipolar

You need to be working with your Pdoc to find a med cocktail that works to control your BiPolar symptoms. That can take a while with several trials of different med combo's...there's not really other way to do it, you have to be patient and pray that one of the cocktails works. You also need to be in Therapy regularly so that you can get your feelings/thoughts/emotions out to someone who is unbiased. These are really the only ways to treat BiPolar Disorder, as its not a curable disease.

There are other types of Therapies you can use as well, DBT, CBT, Group Therapy Meetings, different ways to help you deal with what's going on in your head. Journaling can be a very positive experience for any with BiPolar, just getting all of the stuff out of your head.

Take care

Re: Support Needed for Bipolar

Bi polar is not easy to deal with or control I'm on one med only and sometimes I wonder if it even works or if it's the people around me. I do know when I'm positive and thinking positive I am always up but I have my down days that's for sure. I'm manic bipolar so I know I need to be careful. I've been told I need an emotional support animal as that may help but being around positive people helps too and the right meds. Don't let it control you ever is so worth it no matter what....just talk to your doc and figure out your meds ....
