Question Bipolars attracted to other Bipolars?

Sorry I am asking so many questions. I'm just curious also as to who you end up dating. Are they also Bipolar?

I find it awfully suspicious that out of all my serious relationships (and the ones who I end up falling in love with) the men are either diagnosed Bipolar or I KNOW they could be. I can recognize all of the symptoms in them..and it makes me like them more!

Are we just attracted to people who are like us because they can understand us better or is a bipolar only able to be tolerated by another bipolar because "normal" people couldn't put up with us?

Also, in dating do you find that you get a LOT of attention from the opposite sex (normal, bipolar, or otherwise) but after a while the "normal" ones seem to lose interest but the crazier ones want to be with you forever? lol.

I'm noticing a pattern!

Re: Bipolars attracted to other Bipolars?

Hi again!

I do believe we subconcsiously attract a certain 'type' - it's not necessarily a good thing! I think certain patterns are familiar and make us feel safe - unfortunately mine seem to be quite destructive - I have decided to remain single until I'm sending out 'nice men only' signals!

Re: Bipolars attracted to other Bipolars?

I think I addressed this when I first joined, and I think it holds true for non-romatic friends best friends, male and female all seem to have the same affliction diag or not. Best friend in the UK goes up and down at the same rate- so we tended to do stupid stuff together, and get thrown out of a lot of places, and drive 300 miles across the uk to buy cars of unkown quality we had purchased for a few pounds sterling on e-bay (best car I ever had was a Fiat Panda- 21 pounds wonderful shape, weirdest one was a Trabant we purchased the following Sunday for 100GBP and drove back across the country with its east german plates and defunct east german insurance (came with the car) and bluffng our way through the tolls "Englander gelt?! Nein Englander gelt! Reichemarks!!, oh, yeah, and the MZ bike from Berlin, 29GBP to Berlin- thanks ezyjet!)
Other people are so boring...
