Looking forward to a new and brighter day!

I am a 25 year old female that was diagnosed bipolar/paronoid schizophrenia a year and a half ago. I have been on numerous meds including seroquel, abilify, deseryl, and wellbrutrin. Three months ago I had the wild idea to slowly stop taking my medication. Recently I have experienced a few nightmares, voices and alot of anxiety. Right away I called my doctor and have an appt. tomorrow morning. I also have a class to go to tomorrow night that deals with coping with bipolar disorder. I am not so sure how to feel or what to expect about attending the class but will give it a try. Being at the health center leads to alot more anxiety because I have to face the fact that I do suffer from a major disorder. If anyone else out there has the same symptoms and or taking the same meds please let me know how you have managed with this disorder. Thanks~ Chatham24

Re: Looking forward to a new and brighter day!

the classes you spoke of are offered by who?
There are some of those that can make life so much better.
I attend some some the family members of someone who has a loved one with a mental disorder. They are GREAT!
God Bless

Re: Looking forward to a new and brighter day!

Well, today was a good day! The doctors appt. went really good. He put me on a new med. which is geodon.-sp- my "cocktail" consists of that and wellbrutrin. After I took it I was extremely sleepy, so sleepy I didnt even make it through the entire coping class. The class is being held at the clinic that I go to. I actually found it to be boring. Wasnt what I expected. Anyone with comments or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks~ chatham24

I take Abilify and Wellbutrin. They have really worked well for me. I'm going to attend a support group tomorrow night for those with Mental Illness'. I can't wait. It will be a blessing! Go for it! Take that class. You have all to gain and nothing to lose.
