Question Can I use my pill brand for emergency contraception?

Ive tried looking for the regimen for Microgestin 1/20 (monophasic; generic for Loestrin 1/20) so i may use it as emergency contraception (just in case). I have only seen regimens of other pill brands, other than mine, that this could be done with. Does this mean i am unable to use it as EC? If so, how come?
Could it be that my pill is a low dose?
Could it be the type of hormones it contains?
Does it only apply for Triphasic pills?

Pills used for EC (other than Plan B) usually contain ethinyl estradiol and levonorgestrel. Loestrin contains ethinyl estradiol and norethindrone, so the progestin is different. There are a list of pills approved by the FDA for emergency contraception, and Loestrin is NOT one of them.

However, theortically, any pill containing estrogen and progestin COULD work, but you shouldn't use any birth control for this purpose without consulting your physician.

And no, not only triphasic pills work as EC.
