Question for those who've made it past 3 months on Seasonale

I've been taking Seasonale for 4 1/2 weeks with 3 weeks of break through bleeding. I'm excited about the idea of only 4 periods a year, but I'm really getting tired of the spotting and cramps. I know this is supposed to be common in the first 3 months and I'm wondering if anyone who has used Seasonale for any length of time can reassure me that the spotting does stop after the first 3 months. I don't want to quit now if I know that it gets better. Thanks!

Re: Question for those who've made it past 3 months on Seasonale

I was on it for 9 months and am now back on Yasmin. The spotting did not go away for me, esp. in the last month of every 3-month pack. I gained about 15 pounds, even though I work out 6 days per week and eat a 1200 calorie diet.

The worst part of it was that the last 3 weeks of every 3 month pack, I felt like I had the worst PMS in the world and there was no shaking it. So, Im back on Yasmin and I feel better already.

Just my experience -- I'm sure there are people who love Seasonale.

Re: Question for those who've made it past 3 months on Seasonale

And I'm one of them.

I actually have never experienced any spotting whatsoever on Seasonale. Maybe it's because I'm slightly underweight for my height? I have no idea but I never had any breakthrough bleeding whatsoever. I'm currently on the first week of my 5th month of being on it, just so you know. The only really bad side affects I have had was all emotionally related. I would cry really bad on some days for no reason. And get all depressed. But that seemed to have passed. And then, like someone else said, I would get what seemed to be kind of like a period for a couple of days. My stomache felt like it was cramping, but I never bled. So who knows.

I do love Seasonale though.

Re: Question for those who've made it past 3 months on Seasonale

ive been on seasonale for over a year now. And I do like it. I have little to no breakthrough bleeding, granted i did have it at first, infact it seemed to happen on the 2nd packet of the 4 in the middle of it. It would last for 4/5 days lite stuff then would go away till the iron pills at the end of the third.

I havent had this problem since just before christmas though. And I havent gained any weight on this pill, i was on estrostep fe b4 this and gained 20pounds!! I can be emotional from time to time or even crabby, but who doesnt have their days anyway right.

Overall I think its a great pill, I do not have any insurance at the time so i am paying anywhere from 115-125 for the 2 months which pans out if you think about it, but to me its worth it. I have had no pregnancy scares what so ever!
