Breakthrough bleeding while using patch continuously.. can i just stop now?

I have been trying to take the patch for 3 months straight so i don't have a period. I did this once before and it worked great.. no breakthrough bleeding or anything. I think once or twice I had a little red/brown when I wiped but nothing that needed a pantyliner or anything. I went off the patch in March and decided in October to go back on it. I bled the whole first month so I went off for the week to get a period. But I was also 3 weeks late getting my period when I started back on the patch. So my last period was Nov 9th and everything was going good with taking the patch continuously until the week before Christmas. I started to spot a bit but nothing too bad. Then on Monday after Christmas I had sex and bled but also had a yeast infection so I thought it was just from that. Got the yeast infection treated and then continued bleeding and then it turned into dark brown almost black discharge with a few times clots coming out.. small clots but still clots. Last night the blood went back to red again. So I have now been bleeding straight through for almost 2 weeks. If I was only going to skip one period I should have went off the patch this past Sunday. So this should be the week of my period anyway. My RE that I started going to yesterday wants me to go off all meds to do some blood work and even said to just go off the patch right now and not wait for the cycle to end. I forgot to ask if that will cause me to just keep bleeding but assumed it would. But now that I am still bleeding what's the worst that can happen? I am leaving on vacation with my boyfriend on Sunday until Friday and didn't want to be bleeding cause I wanted to enjoy my vacation. I don't care about the birth control not working.. condoms work fine. But I don't want to be bleeding all the time. I am also on spironolactone for PCOS and don't know if that has anything to do with it either. I am trying to get in to see my dr today.

So I guess after all that my question is what do you think will happen if I go off the patch right now when this should be my off week where I would be having my period and I'm bleeding already? Do you think it will really mess things up and I will keep bleeding? Or do you think staying on the patch will make the bleeding stop? Any input you have would be greatly appreciated!! I can't take all this bleeding! I'm just trying to stop bleeding! Thanks!
