Confused about the pill!!!

I am currently taking the pill everyday and since my last period I have messed up the routine so I don't know when to stop taking the real pill and start taking the placebo, I have not been taking the pill as shown by the packet... if that makes sense! I still have not got my period, should I stop taking the pill and wait for my period? Will it come if I continue to take the pill? Also, how do I get back in to the normal routine of taking the pill... So confused! Please help!

Re: Confused about the pill!!!

You've missed pills, or you're just not taking them at the same time each day?

I'm not an expert on BC.. but if it was me this is what I'd do...
If it's been 3 weeks since your last period, I'd start taking the placebo pills and disregard any missed pills. After your placebo pills are gone, start a fresh pack and try your best to keep on schedule! (set a daily timer to remind you to take it, that's what I do!)

If it hasn't been three weeks, then start taking them on time as best you can now until you start the placebo pills.

You shouldn't get your period if you are still taking the active pills.

Do you remember when your last period ended? You may be able to figure out when you should start your placebos, based on how many active pills are left. (I'm picturing your pack to be out of order.) If its out of order, you may be able to count the pills left and compare that to when you ended your last period.

Your other option would be to disregard your current pack all together. Wait for your period, and start from scratch with a new pack and the end of your next period. Or call the doctor b/c I don't know if I'm making any sense!!

* In the mean time, make sure that you are using condoms while having sex at least until you're on a tight schedule with your pills for at least a month. B/c you've been taking them incorrectly, they are not effective and will not protect you against pregnancy. *

Hope this helps some, and doesn't add to the confusion!!
