depo and spot bleeding

i took the depo shot Jan. 3 and never went to get the next shot and had no period until Aug. 31 and ended on Sep. 6 and i've been having spot bleeding every other week since Sep. 17 and they last for 3-4 days is it because the medicine is trying to leave my body? when will it stop? how long will it take to have a regular menstrual cycle after the depo shot?

Re: depo and spot bleeding

It usually takes about 18 months for it to leave your body, but its different for everyone. I was on it for 3 years, and went off it and got on the pill and a month later i was pregnant. so you never know.
