IUD Mirena or Implanon Implant

Just a caution RESEARCH everything before you choose to have the implantation. I took the Depoprovera Shot when I was younger and am convinced that is what started all my "female" problems. That was just a Shot. The took the First generation "implants" (Norplant) of the shelf. Why??? You should ask these questions. I had a friend who had the implants and now has a nice scare to remind her of a bad decision and they became infected. Not to mention the havoc it caused in her body. She tells me all the time she wishes she would have never had that norplant done.

I understand no being able to take BC or unable to have tubal. But if this is just a case of Hubby being too lazy or a big sissy bag to have the snip then I would say "No Snipp Snipp" "No Hanky Panky" It's a much less invasive procedure for him with NO chemicals or foreign objects. Just simply cutting and tying off. It takes about 6 mos to get a clear for the take (means it can take six mos to eliminate ALL Swimmers). But using condoms for 6 mos and Your husband being a bit uncomfortable for a few days is a small price to pay considering you gained weight, bore his children, feed and care for the family as well as probably work to contribute to the family. Plus, haven't you been through enough? Childbirth Alone is enough to make him get up and go get the snip.

I told him 30 min procedure compared to a 24 hour labour. His become such a woos.
I'm holding off sex. Its actually putting mereoff , because of the preg scare.

Ok... now i don't know whats going on... A little anxious maybe.
I'm waiting to get the implant in my arm done.. I'm 7 days late with my period. i had a preg test.. thankgodness it came back negative, that was 3 days ago
you think i should go back and get another test. ... The first one my doc did for me.
Any one here had the implant ??

Ive had the mirena IUC for a little over a year and i swear i could be a spokesman for it! I LOVE it! Ive never had any problems with it! It was a little uncomfortable getting it put in but for a small copay you should be set for 5 years...Ive had no side affects and my periods have stopped!

Ok ... I have been on the Implanon Implant now for almost 2 and 1/2 years. It is my first birth control. With being newly married and all I just didn't think that I could remember to take a pill every day at the same time, and since I haven't had any children getting the IUD wasn't an option, it seemed to be the less stressfull thing to do. I have had some weight gain since I have had it. But I have always had my period every month. I do have friends that have it and they hardley ever have there period and if they do it might be spotting for 1-4 days. After it was put in I did spot for a while but then got right back on track.
