My IADT3 results - third vacation period-10th month

Posted 02-07-2011 09:43 PM by IADT3since2000

I haven't updated my results for a while, but I have continued to do well. I'm now in my 12th years since diagnosis with a challenging case (baseline PSA 113.6, Gleason 3+4=7 per expert, stage 3, all cores positive, scans negative), and intermittent triple androgen deprivation therapy (IADT3) plus finasteride continuously has been my sole therapy. (Plus low-dose thalidomide/vitamin B6 boosts to extend off therapy periods, bisphosphonates for bone density protection, and lifestyle tactics, mainly...

Day 14

Posted 08-24-2010 10:27 AM by jic

The results are in, and the catheter is OUT, yeaaaaaaaaaaa, yippee ya hoo!!!

It's not that the catheter was all that bad, just uncomfortable at times, but not painful. There were a few times upon exiting the recliner I would forget that I was tethered and would find myself stopping short of standing up. Then there was sleeping at night, I was always conscience that the catheter had to be kept in a position that would allow my bladder to have a continuous drain, (VERY IMPORTANT)...

Progress at 4 months into vacation from Lupron/bicalutamide

Posted 08-21-2010 02:14 PM by IADT3since2000

PSA test of 8/16/2010, 4th month on vacation from the heavy duty drugs (Lupron and Casodex)

My PSA rose from 0.02 to 0.11. I was hoping that SuperBio Curcumin was possibly potent enough to keep my PSA down for a while, but I'm satisfied with the brief decline at the two month point after going on the vacation from the heavy duty drugs in April, and I'm happy with the current modest increase in PSA to 0.11. My prostate is clearly recovering as I again start to produce substantial...

D Day (day 11)

Posted 08-21-2010 10:26 AM by jic

Well I've made it through another night, and I must admit it has been the best nights rest I've had since having my Prostatectomy. "Why" I'm glad you asked, instead of taking a bird bath like I have been, I felt confident that the 6 stapled holes that spread across my belly had healed up enough, to allow me to take a full blown shower. The smell of body wash on my skin, deodorant, and shampoo made me feel alive again. My Wife and I had just finished watching a good movie, then I topped...

D Day (day 10)

Posted 08-20-2010 01:49 PM by jic

I can't believe that I'm into my tenth day after Surgery already, the days are flying by and hopefully only two more days left before I get this catheter out of me. I must admit it's probably the best thing for me because I have big issues with sitting still, however under the circumstances I have had reconstructive surgery in one of the most "hummm, how should I word this" private areas of the Male anatomy:
It is still really tender (inside) and I would not want to do anything...
