whatever 'normal' is

Posted 08-25-2013 05:04 PM by Frumquist

The doctor says to go ahead with a normal life but use common sense. I'm not sure that those things always go together. He said it looks like we hit a home run with the healing from the surgery and the disappearance of all of the symptoms that we thought 'might' have been associated with gerd. Symptoms including, coughing, throat, and sinus problems accompanying the burning, regurgitating, swallowing problems.
After the first of the year (6 months post-op) I'll go back for a barium swallow to see how everything is working and maybe another manometry and/or endoscopy with Bravo. And, ya know, that's fine. Now that I know what has been causing me these problems for too many years, I'm willing to undergo the tests in order to stay on top of the situation. I don't like the tests, but they are worth it.
Find a good doc, get a second opinion, ask a lot of questions, and do whatever is necessary to help you enjoy life...
