Posted 02-11-2015 01:41 PM by k742

Wow, I haven't updated this blog for a long time! Not sure if anyone actually reads it, but what the heck.

So...back in November 2014 I had laparoscopic surgery (robotic assisted) to officially diagnose the endometriosis we all suspected, and attempt to excise what could be removed, and check the status of my ovaries, tubes, etc.

Turns out, it's like someone squirted glue inside my abdomen and everything is fused together - my bowel and bladder are attached in some...

Just an update for those who care...

Posted 05-23-2014 07:31 PM by k742

So, for those keeping track of my medical saga...here's an update. Chiropractor has been helping with my back and hip pain; Wednesday I go in for my evaluation.

Yesterday we finally got to meet with the NaPro doc - that was pretty great, actually. He took a thorough history of what's been going on, did a quick pelvic exam to make sure nothing obvious was going on...based on my issues he thinks it could be progesterone deficiency, PCOS, endometriosis, or any combination of those things....

Excitement and fear, all at once.

Posted 04-10-2014 02:40 PM by k742

My lovely new doctor prescribed some meds for the pain I’ve been dealing with more frequently. I’m equal parts excited and terrified at the thought of pain meds. Any others have this fear?

I’ve already told myself to save the Vicodin for emergencies only - the other he gave me was ketorolac (Toradol)…this one comes with some potentially nasty side effects, but I think I’ll be OK (good thing I bought the whole milk this time instead of the low-fat junk!). I’ve also made a deal with...

Venofer Iron Infusions – Round 3 (The Last!) (May 23, 2013)

Today (Thursday 5/23) was my very last Venofer infusion. I was so excited that it was the last one, but my stomach was a mess with nerves and dread since I didn’t have that great of an experience on Tuesday.

I am so thankful my Mom went with me (no matter what you may think, you are NEVER too old for your mom!) – she even made me a care package! Magazines, animal cookies, and coloring book and crayons (Crayola, for the win!)

I actually had a bit of a meltdown when...
