Lisfranc Update 22/04/2013

Posted 04-21-2013 02:36 PM by mangzilla

Hey everyone who's read my blog. So it has been 6 months since I had my Lisfranc injury and this past thursday I have finally had the hardware removed from my right foot.

It was mildly painful when I woke from the anaesthetic however it was nothing like the first surgery. I actually felt great when I awoke, 2 hours after the surgery I was out of there and back home. My foot is currently bandaged and what not and I used crutches the day of the surgery, however I am able to walk on it now fully weight bearing. The doctor gave me a little shoe/boot thing to wear for 2 weeks until the stitches come out and then thats it! No more hospital or specialist appointments, Everything from then on is exercising and trying to get it back up to scratch. I am hoping it feels a little better now that the screws are out but I guess I'll know in a couple of weeks if its any better or not.

This will most likely be my last post unless I come into any issues in the near future. Overall I think my recovery has been very smooth, especially compared to some other stories I came across at the start of this ordeal. To anyone in that boat, I hope that your recovery is as smooth and easy as mine has been, good luck! Feel free to leave a comment to discuss anything I have posted on here. Cheers guys.
