Celebrating over 100 days Anxiety free

Today is a big milestone for me. I am celebrating over 100 days of not having an anxiety attack or having a bad spell with my OCD.

I feel like I should be waiting for the other shoe to drop ha ha, but I'm not going to question it I'm just going to enjoy life.

I have been suffering with anxiety and OCD for about 16 years of my life now. It was really bad right around the time I started having kids at 20. I had to be hospitalized. Anxiety is so debilitating and I really wish more people realized and understood it. My first husband used to tell me that I was doing it for attention. Right. I'm freaking out and on the verge of a nervous break down because I could really use the attention?! Needless to say that didn't last long, but that is not what this blog is about.

I have taken just about every SSRI under the sun. I also have hypothroidism which just adds to the confusion. About 4 years ago my doctor put my on Luvox. I had never heard of it before. It worked great. It did help with my OCD too.

After the birth of my 3rd and last child in 2014 I realized I was done with pharmaceuticals. I'm so sick of the side effects, they had to up my dose blah blah blah not to mention I was having a hard time losing the weight I had just put on adding to the mass that was already there lol.

So here I am going the natural route, which I used to scoff at. And I find that it is working even better. There are a grouping of vitamins and supplements that I have been on for about 5 moths and I haven't felt this good in I don't know how long. Not to mention I've been researching the benefits of probiotics for anxiety and I have feeling that is helping too. I don't know why I waited so long to do this, and I have a feeling it's due to the fact I need to have unshakeable evidence that something is going to benefit me before I do it, but since most supplements aren't FDA approved and there isn't a ton of testing done I just took a leap of faith.

I hope that through this blog I can help others to live anxiety free and gain control of their lives. I'll keep you all posted.
