I am not 1 week post op. I saw so much scary information regarding this surgery, I am fortunate to have some positive news, at least so far. :-)

I woke up this morning a bit early, around 5:30am and in a bit of pain. Nothing that wasnít manageable but my foot was sore. I took the pain pill around the time I woke up and watched some tv. Pretty uneventful. I tried hard to just take it easy. I was in more pain and I could tell the nerve block was wearing off.

As the day went on, I got a knee scooter so I can get around easier. It wasnít hard to get out of the house, but it definitely makes things more sore. As the day went on, I took my pain pills about every 2-3 hours, I would take 1 pill. The pills definitely work, so I make sure to take them as needed.

Iím working on keeping my diet to non-processed foods, no alcohol, no cigars, and a lot of water. Right now Iím downstairs watching tv typing this out instead of the bedroom. Just needed a change of scenery for a bit.

I was thinking today would be the hardest day and most painful, and if this is the worst, Iím really glad because it isnít too bad at all. On a scale of 1-10, the worst today has been about a 5 and that is right now and Iím about ready for another pain pill.

I have to say, if you have to have this type of surgery, you need someone with you.

I hope this helpsÖstay tuned.
