LVA Treatment for Lymphedema

I recently underwent surgical treatment for primary lymphedema in my right leg. The procedure, called LVA (Lymphaticovenous Anastomosis) was performed on April 21, 2015 and I’m already seeing a significant improvement in my swelling!

LVA graphs the lymph lines to a vein to allow the lymph fluid to drain via the vascular system.

I'm 30 years old, I was diagnosed with primary lymphedema 11 years ago in my right leg. It was manageable for about 8 years with little change...

Hi

Im 23, and have had bunions all my life.

I am scared about the surgery..its on april 18.

I have learned to keep internet searches to a minimum. it does not help..and if your like me only causes you to go crazy worried.lol

pre op is on Monday (23/3/15)

don't know if anyone will actually read this, but it helps to be able to share my experience and maybe someone will find it helpful.

An update - finally!

Wow, I haven't updated this blog for a long time! Not sure if anyone actually reads it, but what the heck.

So...back in November 2014 I had laparoscopic surgery (robotic assisted) to officially diagnose the endometriosis we all suspected, and attempt to excise what could be removed, and check the status of my ovaries, tubes, etc.

Turns out, it's like someone squirted glue inside my abdomen and everything is fused together - my bowel and bladder are attached in some...
