My Thyca Battle

Posted 12-02-2012 10:27 AM by Skiyrizer

Well I have been in quasi-remission now for 1 year and 6 months. I am going to celebrate at my 2 year anniversary very soon! What a trial this has been and one that has truely made me stronger both spirtually, emotionally, physically, and mentally.

Although not everything is peachy... I am emotionally sensative right now because there is a trace amount of thyca left they found on ultrasound. My endo recommends to remove it while my surgeon says no, because it's so small and hard to get at... It's just something to be monitored at the moment and nothing to be overly concerned about. I trust both of these men with my life so I am pretty torn right now.

All my stellar labs point say I am cancer free with < 0.2 thyroglobulin marker and 0.05 TSH, but apparently not 100%!!!

I am still going through physical changes to my body I never expected but I am getting stronger as the days pass. Clothes don't seem to fit right anymore and are super baggy but my weight is roughly the same. My energy levels are improving and my outlook is positive! I joined a gym and actually have energy to do things. It's pretty amazing actually and a real milestone for me.

My best friends wife and good friend who is also a thyca survivor is having her baby next month. I am so happy for her and wish her the best. I can't wait to see the little guy...

Other thoughts, I'm trying to hold up to the promises I made way back when in the hospital... I'm not doing so hot here... I've been not so nice to some people who care about me. The man upstairs knows what I mean. I just pray for some understanding and guidance...

That's all for now...
