Bunionectomy - the good, the bad and the ugly

Posted 08-30-2011 11:35 AM by emmac25

I wanted to write a thorough "review" of my surgery to hopefully help those who are as scared as I was for my buinonectomy.

Let me start off by saying I was TERRIFIED. I had panic attacks for weeks leading up to it.

I've had very bad bunions for as long as I can remember, as well as hammer toes on both second toes. My big toe was bent probably towards 2pm on my right foot! It was very very bad, and for my age (30) my surgeon said it was one of the worst she...

Day 5 Post-op bunionectomy

Posted 04-26-2011 02:07 PM by beccaqt7

So yesterday I practically had a panic attack in the car.
I felt much better after I was prepping, and I had the nicest anesthesiologist...

New bilateral bunionectomy

Posted 04-22-2011 04:40 AM by beccaqt7
Updated 04-22-2011 05:54 PM by beccaqt7 (misspelling)

Yesterday I had my first surgery ever. (not including basic oral surgery, wisdom teeth, etc)
I had a bunionectomy- a scarf procedure, performed bilaterally.
For the past few weeks I was so excited about it- I've had moderate- severe bunions since I was 7, and have wanted to fix them for at least the past 10-15 years. I always put it off because of time, money, fears, etc, but in the last year or 2, i could see them visibly getting worse.
It was time to bite the bullet. ...
