Recovering from sepsis

Should I be concerned that since I was discharged from the hospital, I'm feeling much more tired than usual, have some slight problem concentrating, and finding quite frequently I get cranky and irritable rather easily just doing the same job as before? I'm recognizing a marked difference in my moods.

I'm concerned at the differences I'm noticing after a stay in ICU being treated for sepsis, bordering on septic shock. Please help. I don't want this affecting the rest of my life. Should I mention this to my doctor?

Re: Recovering from sepsis

Sorry to hear about you having septis. Very scary condition!

I had it this past March as a result of a UTI. I developed a wound which required almost 6 months of care.

I am still tired almost 8 months out. I started researching sepsis a couple months ago & found an online sepsis alliance site w/ lots of personal stories. Ongoing fatigue seems to be longterm affect, but probably the least severe.

I can deal with many dont survive!

Best of luck on your return to health!
