Unhappy Severe pain in tibia

So I have severe pain in my tibia close to my ankle that's just getting worse each day. I've had X-rays and there was no fracture evident so the dr thought it was a stress fracture but it's getting so bad and I had tests done by another dr for something else and have a low white blood cell count and a high ch50 complement count. I'm wondering if this could be an infection especially as I had an untreated infected wound from glass in that foot and untreated infected ingrown toenail for months. Just trying to make sense of if all and any input would be greatly appreciated. They have me in a boot right now but I'm finding the pain to just be getting unbearable. Any ideas?
