Stomach and bowel problems for over 6 weeks
Hey everyone!
I'm a 28-year-old male. I've had some weird issues for the last 6 weeks and have done quite a lot of tests and nothing has been found to be very wrong. Let me just say upfront that I'm a hugely anxious guy, a hypochondriac. I worry excessively over every symptom.
In the beginning of April I felt a dull ache during one night in my rectum. It went away in about 20 minutes. So the next morning I started to google all sorts of stuff. I was worrying about it. Two days later I started to have loose stools almost every morning. As soon as I opened my eyes, I had to go. Often times I would go like 3 times in the morning.
So I diagnosed myself with colon cancer. A week later I thought my stomach is getting full too quickly after eating - I thought I had stomach cancer. My doctor put me on Nexium for 12 days, which didn't help much. So I had a gastroscopy. There were two minor erosions in my stomach, which were biopsied - nothing was found, not even h. pylori.
And since that gastroscopy I've still had loose stools in the mornings and gas and bloating with stomach gurgling in the evenings. I have like this rhythm - loose stools in the morning (usually around 7 AM). Then I'm fine until about 4 PM when the gurgling and gas starts.
Anyway, I had a blood test (even tested for coeliac) and everything was perfect. Then I had fecal occult test, which showed no blood.
Can this be some sort of weird IBS? Can all this be because of anxiety? I really don't like to get a colonoscopy, but I'm still in fear I have colon cancer.
Has anyone experienced something similar?
