Red toilet after Bowel movment

I'm 48 male bit overweight (16st at 5 foot 11)

FOr a while it has been painful to go for a number 2 and 80% of time blood on toilet paper only. Today, like normal, went to the toilet... took a while but when I got up to flush it was a sea of red, so red you could hardly see the stool.

Rang Dr's but they said unless dizzy or faint then wait till next week to get seen.

Any ideas anyone?

Many thanks,

UBNTFP

Re: Red toilet after Bowel movment

It could be something as benign as a hemorrhoid.

I don't know, exactly, but that is what I think it is. Let me know what the doctor says!

My thoughts are to go to urgent care or ER asap.If you have internal bleeding it will be taken care of I wouldn't wait since Labor weekendis coming and then you're stuck

Re: Red toilet after Bowel movment

I agree with Regecca. Something similar happened to me a while back and it turned out to be the beginnings of Crohns and was put on steroids and probiotic. Don't understand your doctors office to wait a week.

Have you been on antibiotics lately? It could be cdiff if you have been esp. if it is diarrehea plus blood. While it could be hemmys, usually there is not that much blood. Do you have pain with your BM and after?
