    Newly dx with diverticulitis

Hello all. I was just recently told I have diverticulitis. I was given Amox-clav for 10 days. How long does the antibiotic take to kick in? I'm on day 3 and still feeling like crap. Nothing but back pain here with waistline pain that I can't even touch. High WBC also. Thanks

It can take up to a week for things to really feel better, but any day now you should be feeling alittle bit better. Diverticulitis is painful and very inflammatory...the white blood count is high because of the infection. Follow your doctor's instructions and you should feel better soon!

Is back pain a symptom? Mine seems to be moving from lower to upper pain. Definitely not spinal pain. Feels like gas moving around but constant.
