Im scared! Please help!!

I just cant seem to go no matter what I do! The only relief I get is when I use a laxative but Im afraid that if I constantly use it, my body will get used to it and then I have to use it whenever I need to go. Is there a way to prevent depending on the laxative?

I have been taking metamucil for 2-3 days already and I know Im having soft stool but the problem is that it just wont seem to come out without the aid of the laxative.

Im really concerned about this! Please help!

There was a period when I was eating all these junky food but didnt have a great intake supply of water so I was thinking thats whats causing all this right now.

If you're going less than 3 times a week and it's hard or just hard work, try upping fibre content in your diet. Some say that even 35g per day should be the recommended amount.

Check that you're not deficient in Vitamin C or Magnesium levels in your diet.

Flaxseed (linseed) is also a softener, and a natural laxative.

Exercise is a great help. Even just mild to moderate intensity. particularly the core body ones, eg crunches.

According to some reading I did on the Mayo site. They recommend 38 grams of fiber for people under 50 and 30 grams for people over 50. Do a search for fiber and diverticulitis for the exact recommendations for gender and age.

Heh, I get embarrassed talking about this sort of thing, but All Bran or Bran Flakes work wonders!
