Question Softer stool in the morning, harder as the day goes on

I have a question for anyone that might know. I have been taking Metamucil for the past 2 1/2 weeks because my stool was small. Well, the Metamucil has worked and my stool is better formed and larger, but I notice that in the morning my stool is softer, and as the day goes on it firms up. Why is this? When I say softer I mean just that, it is formed and I would not call it diahrrea, but it is pretty soft. Then when I go in the evening, it is harder. I take Metamucil at noon and midnight, right before I go to bed. I have about two BM a day.

When I took Metamucil, I took it in the morning and in the evening. I found the same thing too. I now switched to fiber pills and found the same thing. I take my fiber pill before breakfast and before dinner. I like the fiber pills better, because when you travle it is a lot easier than trying to mix the powder into a glass on a trip. But what I found helps for me anyways, is eating allbran every morning for breakfast and at least 2 litres of water a day. I drink almost 2 litres before lunch and then kind of taper off towards the rest of the day. In the summer I drink more. You need TONS of water on pysllium. I also put flax seed on my cereal as well as bran buds with pysllium too. If anyone knows of why the stools form harder during the day, we'd like to know. Thanks
