    Problem with anus, please help

This is strange to me, but really need some help here. I am a male and am 17 years old. To explain my situation, I have what seems to be no real control over my bowel. I can also feel what I feel to be part of the ends of my intestines in my crack for a lack of a better term. I can feel it, and I know my finger isn't going inside my anus or anything. I looked on a website and saw a test some doctors do where you squat down and they feel around. Well, I did that on myself, squatted down and could feel instestines. It's imistakable. And when I squat down, I can really feel it, not just a barely thing. Is that normal, to be able to feel your intestines if you squat down?

Also, with the thought about not being able to control my bowels, here is the explaination. Basically, I have what you can call anal leakage. It isn't like staining my underwear or something kind of leakage, but it like hangs in what I feel to be my intestines that is in my crack. I have no control over it, and it makes me quite uncomfortable when I'm in public. I don't think it smells, but I feel as though it may sometimes. That is not normal. Also, I would go to the bathroom during school after lunch and classes, sometimes to just take a wiss, but also to wipe my butt. That is quite sad. Nothing really big appears on the toilet paper but a faint stain, which is proof there is leakage. I go to the bathroom regularly, actually seems to me more than others during school, and it still occurs.

I also went to the doctor two weeks ago, and he looked at it, and shockingly said that he saw nothing wrong with the outside, which is what I thought was wrong. He then did that test with the glove, and told me he thought it may be internal hemmroides. I used preperation H for it a little, but got no results from it.

Also when I look at diagrams of the anus, I see two muscles that keep gas back and the intestines in. I feel as though I dont even have those, or there not working properly. Also, the anus in the diagram looks pretty small, my anus feel and looks quite bigger than that. Also, in the diagram, I dont see any intestines, but my anus has intestines. I have taken a picture of it while squatting down, and saw intestine.

One last thing that I feel I need to put out. When I was in 6th or 7th grade, I played soccer. Well, before every game I would go to the bathroom. One time, as I remember, I was in a hurry, and was trying to get everything out. Well, that day I did that, I can remember feeling a sharp pain in my anus area when I was straining to go. That, I feel, may be linked to what is occuring and what I feel right now.

I will be going to the doctor Monday, its really about some medicine I'm supposed to get for something else, but will request to go to a specialists. Is this stuff that I feel and have normal, or is this doctor just blowing me off because I'm younger and "this doesn't happen to younger people"? I know this is a lot of rambling, but if someone could peice what I wrote together, and help me that would be great. Thanks for any help.

Ok, that is what I do plan on doing, but I still would like someone to answer this for me, is it normal to be able to feel your intestines in your crack, again for a lack of a better term? Are others here able to feel it. Or does your anus look and feel similar to the diagrams, which show the anus to be small, and no intestines protruding out of it. Is it normal to be able to feel your intestines if you squat down? Could someone please answer that for me.

You might be feeling internal hemmerhoids, as you push down. If you look at a diagram of the intestines, colon and rectum, the large colon sits below the intestines, so, I don't think your intestines are pushing through your colon and then out of your rectum. You obviously feel something, so, by seeing a gastroenterologist, this doctor can use a scope to look up into the lower colon and visually see what how that area looks. I know nothing about hernias, in that area. Young people can have problems with their intestines and colon, so, don't let a doctor tell you that it's all in your head. Be firm and request a thorough exam, by a gastroenterologist. While you are waiting, you might type in different keywords, like anal pain, fistulas, anal fissures, anal polyps, hermmorhoids, sigmidoscopy, colonoscopy, etc. into your search engine, to see what you might find. I found alot of info. about the rectum, the colon and intestines that way.

I think it would be a good idea to see a specialist..when he examines you make sure to squat down so he can feel what you are feeling.

It could be internal hemmroides or possibly a rectal prolapse.

Good luck and let us know what you find out.

It sounds like internal hemorrhoids to me as well. I have them also and everytime I go to the bathroom. they prolase and then retract back inside when I am done. At any rate, I would go to see a colo-rectal specialist and, like spongebobgamma said, squat down so that he can see and tell you exactly what it is.

Re: Problem with anus, please help

    Update:

I went to the gastrologist yesterday, and they said they would do a rectum check with a camera, going about half way up. I did that today, and they said they found nothing, and that everything looked normal. They did take some tissue samples, which they will look at under a microscope to see if anything is there. But basically, they said it's all normal. Even when he looked at my anus from the outside, the place where I said I felt my colon, in my opinion, protruding a little, he said it looked normal as well. It was a quick look though, and my anus area is kind of hairy, so anything could have been hidden in there. I saw the screen he did it from, and it was a quick glance, and not a real big look. The protrusion isn't major, but it something I link to this leakage, and might not be something big, but its enough that I feel its not normal.

This still doesn't excuse that I was having a problem, and still am time to time. Its not just in my mind either. I know for a fact, that at the end of the day after school, many days if I wiped my anus, and looked at the toilet paper, it looked as if I didn't wipe very well. It wouldn't look horrible, but still it shouldn't be there. And its not like I don't go to the bathroom, I actually went more than most, had a BM once in the morning, once after lunch, and once before the last class, not to mention I would make sure I went number 1 between classes. It is really not comfortable to have this problem, and it does effect how I act in public.

The guy didn't really address the problem that I was talking about, and just told me to take metamusial capsoles, which I really doubt will solve the problem. I eat plenty of fiber. This problem isn't normal and I know it doesn't effect most people. He will call my parents later on though to say what comes of the tissue examination.

I did ask my parents to ask him what should I do for the problem and what would be causing this, so I will see what he says.

But, the gas and leakage problem seems to only really occur in school and in church. Could this be IBS? If so, does IBS cause leakage and gas that is pretty hard to control? If it is, what treatment can be done or things to be done to end IBS? I don't and can't change my diet, I need to eat a good amount, and don't eat junk food or soda much if ever. What else is there that can go against IBS? Also, I'm not really a stressed person, actually pretty relaxed, but when I'm in public, it seems my bowels just seem to do stuff which I can't control. Really strange.

This stuff isn't normal, and is really effecting me. Could someone help me as to what is causing this.

Extra: To state what the problem is, or at least what it is now, here is what it is. I am 17 and have a problem with leakage. The leakage is moucose, and it smells and looks like feces to say the least on toilet paper. I also had a problem with gas, but that doesn't really seem to be a problem anymore. Gas may help cause it, but I know it isn't the main reason. And when I did have gas, it was very minimal, and wasn't big or smelly at all. It's just this leakage that smells and is effecting me.

You are very young to be having any real physical problem down there. You could have IBS, diarrhea. I've had that, and you always have a feeling that you haven't quite emptied yourself. I don't have that all the time, but a lot of time.

As for the lump and stuff your feeling, I don't know. I was thinking internal hemmoriods too, but it looks like the Dr. ruled that out.

I do know some allergies (like a gluten allergy) can cause loose stools and leakage.

You are doing the right thing in trying to find answers. Rule out the serious stuff, then most likely IBS will be diagnosed.

You're to young to be bothered with stuff like this. I really think you'll get better.

Re: Problem with anus, please help

It's been going on for probably 2 or 3 years, and now I really want to deal with it, because it is and has really been effecting me.

If it is IBS, what do they do to end it from occuring?

And does that sound like IBS? Basically, this happens mostly when I'm around people, I'm not nervous or scared or something, it just seems to occur then. The symtoms I get are the feeling I have gas, and feeling like I can't hold it, which is true sometimes, i have to let it out slowely sometimes. Also, I have this leakage, which I can't control, its passive. The leakage seems to be irrigardless if I'm around people or not. What leaks out is like a liquid stool. Not a lot, but I can tell it is leaking out. What it feels like, is where that lump was, a lot feels right there. Sometimes, I have to go to the bathroom just to wipe, and sometimes it looks like I didn't really wipe good, which I know isn't true. And, when school was occuring, after school, when I got home, I would just rub my hand back there, and it would feel a little wet, and my hand would smell like feces. This isn't normal I don't think, and it really does effect me.

So, what would the Doc do or give me to end this IBS problem likely?
