4 year old grandaughter

My little grandaughter only uses her bowel about once a month, if she is lucky. Her doc has put her on laxatives, but cannot recommend a dose. The poor little thing is in agony. She wets the bed when a poo is due and is so very embarassed about it. She is trying the rock and pop thing on the loo, it has helped, but not enough. If anyone else out there whose body does not know how to 'push', and have learnt how to do it, please tell me how I can teach this little girl to have a normal reaction. She is such a little sweety and it breaks my heart to see her in such pain.

Are you sure that she's only going once a month? She may have encopresis. Your granddaughter needs to be cleaned out. The chocolate Ex-Lax is good to get it going and most dr's reccomend Miralax to keep it regulated. Does she have any watery poop leakage?
