constant soft snake-ish stool (yech)

What a wretched topic, but anyhoo, I'm 25 and have recently had this issue. It's accompanied by a fair bit of gas as well, and ironically, it's actually not overly foul-smelling.

I must confess to eating less than regularly, that is, I'll get distracted with something and forget to eat...but I can assure I have no problem eating once I think of it. I've always been a big fan of chocolate milk, dairy in general, hot food, meat, etc... Not to say I don't eat the "healthier" stuff as well, but it is less often by a substantial margin. I actually don't think this is the reason for my symptoms, because they came on rather suddenly, but I figured I'd put it there in case.

Anyway, it started pretty suddenly just over a month ago, just before Christmas. The first week or so, I thought it was just my system being a bit shocked from all the food at my grandmother's for X-mas. Also, after a week or so, I was feeling pretty sick. I had a fever of about 100, and I was fatigued and had a really bad headache. So again, I figured it was the illness causing it. When it started up to through when I was sick, it was full-fledged diarrhea, but then "evolved" mostly into what I described in the post title. However, now it's been just over a month, and since that time, I have not had ONE normal bowel movement, all soft and...yeah, you get the idea. I have tried some fiber supplementation (not for more than a few days), and easing up on milk...doesn't seem to change.

I also (when I was "sick") tried a water flush...drinking a couple liters of water inside 20 try and do just that...flush anything out, but I just got the same diarrhea a little while afterwards. There are so many different bowel disorders, I'm confused. Anyone have an idea as to the cause?

Not eating properly can certainly cause your problem.

As part of Your diet you need to consume soluble fiber to bulk up your stool and become regular not just for a few days but all days. You also need insoluble fiber.

There is no fiber in all meats, seafood and all dairy products.

There is a post in the Information Archive at the top of this page about Normal BMs--- Page 2 post #8.

I wish well with your problem---Harry

Ok thanks for the reply. Like I said, I just didn't suspect that as a primary cause because of the sudden nature of it, but I'm open to that, seeing as the body is a very complicated "machine." I will try regimenting my diet more carefully.
