diverticulitis with abcess post surgery

My husband had a bowel resection due to an abcessed diverticula with no prior historyor problems. He had surgery 2 weeks ago and is still on antibiotics (cipro and flagyl ). I am concerned because he is extremely weak, has a temp of about 100 degrees daily,in pain still, and has oily bowel movements and 1 time had a spagetti like bm and literally had to pull it out. Is this normal ? He has an appointment with the surgeon this Wednesday. I am so upset and need some advice.
