Colon bleeding

I'm 24 year old female. A couple years ago I had little bleeding when I had a bowl movement. I went to the doctor when it happened bc I was scared and she told me to take stool softener. Now (years) later, I'm still bleeding and the last couple days it has worsen. Now I don't even have a bowl movement and the bleeding occurs. I don't want the doctor to stick her pinky up there again. If it is any help to you I don't have

Re: Colon bleeding

Do you have any other symptoms?

Unfortunately, rectal exams are very common with issues such as this. You will need to get over the fear of the pinky!

At 24, the chances that the reason(s) for the bleeding are very serious are low (not impossible, but unlikely). You really need to see a Gastroenterologist and have this evaluated. There's a 99% chance he/she will want to do a colonscopy (I'm having my 1st one done on the 27th, and I have similar symptoms!).

Any family history of bowel disorders, i.e. IBD, IBS, etc?
