Bowel frequency

I would really appreciate some advice. I'm 34,and have to open my bowels an average of 8 or 9 times a day. I did see a gastroenterologist a few years ago when the problem wasn't so bad, but was just given bulk forming laxatives with the idea of going less but passing more. My bowel movements are a good amount each time, it is not like I am not opening my bowels fully each time. This has gradually got worse over the last few years and is destroying my life. I am constantly on the toilet or worrying about going. My tum is constantly uncomfortable and windy. I get up far earlier than I should need to, to ensure that I go at least 6 or 7 times before I go out. If I don't go this number of times, I end up uncomfortable and if I don't go 8 or so times a day, I can end up with a very bad tum after a few days. It's almost as if my body has to compensate for not going this ridiculous number of times. I would really appreciate any advice. Thanks
