Sharp, stabbing pain when passing stools.

For the past four days, I have had extremely bad pains in my anal area when passing a stool. My dad is a pharmacist and has given me hemorrhoid cream, but I don't think it's that? I have been using the cream for two days and have applied it plenty of times. It's not working. There is nothing on the outside of my anal area, so it cannot be an external hemorrhoid. I have read online that an internal hemorrhoid does not hurt, but this is hurting really bad. I have no blood on my stool, but I do have a little bit of blood when I wipe. When I sit down, my bum hurts quite a bit. I'm a 16 year old female, I drink nine bottles of water a day, I have a healthy diet and I exercise four times a week. I'm aware that I should go, but I really, really, really do not want to go to a doctor about this, so could anyone help me out please? I don't want to eat anything because I don't want to pass a stool, so I haven't eaten anything today. Could this be an anal fissure? Thanks.

Re: Sharp, stabbing pain when passing stools.

Hi anal fissures are fairly common. A raw area can cause bleeding. Anytime someone has bleeding back there they say something like a health professional should be seen. A gastroenterologist might be good. Fistulas can also cause pain, other things like tumors even for very young folks can cause pain so unless a professional takes a look, we can't help as much as we want. Any time there is bleeding, it is open there is potential for infection. I would definately stay away from the sweets and junk foods for life, they can lower the immune system and one does not need those anyway. Peace sjb
