Anal Fissure - Close to giving up... i need help.

Its been 3.5 months since i did my annal fissure surgery ( Sphincterotomy surgery).
of course 2 months before the surgery i got to the point that i didn't leave the house for a month and a half and was in horrible pain from first BM in the morning (around 8am or 9am) until 7 or 8pm , which started to feel better, and same for th next and next day.

i decided to do the surgery because i couldn't live like that anymore, and in my head i kept saying it all will be over soon, its only a BAD DREAM, a long one.

After the surgery no need to say that the amount of pain that i was in was not normal to humans, i was taking perckuset every 2 hours, about 12 a day. if not i would feel like my butt is having a knife fight with himself, i used to wake up in the middle of the night screaming with pain and had to take pills even while i was sleeping! Now, i am not talking about the BM which was like having a baby from my ***, no kidding! there was days i was praying for god while doing a BW to help me with this unbelievable pain, i got to the point a week after the surgery that i had to go to the surgeon so she can give me shoots to my *** to num it so i can go to the bathroom! very very bad time, and very painful recovery..

Anyways.. after 2 weeks i found out i had an infection, and do to the infection i developed fistula! congratulation to me!!
my *** doctor (that's how he is named on my phone contact list) told me the only way to treat it is with some tacks pads, so after using a tucs pads for 2 weeks and doing hot baths 3 times a day, he said it was healed, So i asked him, dear *** doctor, if its healed how come i still have pain in my butt and i need to sit on ice few times a day?
so he told me u have a little fussier, i wanted to die!

This time its not painful like before the surgery, but my *** getting HOT after a BW, and just randomly during the day, so of course i am putting ice like 7 times a day, for 15 minutes each time.
every time i go to the *** Doctor he tells me " oh it looks better" so i wonder " why the hell its not feeling better!!"
i become a slave to my owen ***, i am telling you i miss my life before this god damn fissure, i become depressed because i can't hang out with my wife and my 8 months baby, and its controlling everything i do. i had to cancel few flight because i am not up to it, and i can't really take a normal trip or vacation..

in the last few days, after the *** doctor told me it looks better, i actually think its becoming worse, i can't walk more then 2 minutes, it feels like i have to spread my *** cheeks while i am walking to feel better, its like a scratching feeling and it make it unbearable to walk.
i went to a nutrition so my diet is full with fiber and its really good so is my BM ..

not sure what to do anymore, but i feel sad and depressed most of the day, and i know its not good for my family and i know that even my little baby girl can feel it

i don't know what to do, and i don't see any light at the end of this tunnel...
anyone good any word of advise how to go through something like that? because i am broken physically and mentally...

Few thing on my new diet, after I went to one of the best nutritions in California I notice dramatically change in my stool and I highly recommend this diet

    Oat meal whole grain
    Wheat bread
Fruits, at list 2 a day , whichever u want, also try before u sleep to have 2 kind of fruits.
8-10 glasses of water a day A MUST.
Yogurt, try to get GREEK YOGURT
Green vegetables, for every almost every meal
Black beans, very high in fiber, but any beans are good also.
Metamucil can get you constipated if you don't drink water in the amount you should, so pay attention to that. I am taking subscribed miralax which for works much better then Metamucil.
Cereal, wheat one, the one that looks like shredded wheat.
Pay attention, all wheat bars like fiber one and some of the cereal out there are not good because the fiber they have is processed in the wrong way, so it's only going to make you feel bloated.
Hummus is also good if you like it.

thank you for taking the time to read

wow you have and still are going thru a lot. I think I would get another opinion ASAP! This is crazy. I had one about 10 yrs ago and never went thru any of these things (everyone is diferrent though). So please see if you can find another dr. to get another opinion. Sounds like something else is still going on in there. IMO. CJ ((((HUGS))))

I feel your pain and am so sorry for your troubles. I was diagnosed with IBS and annusitis and not fissures. I told my GP this and she said its the same as fissures. So now I'm totally confused. I went to a naturopath who put me on an anti-inflammatory diet which is helping. But I can't eat wheat, dairy, corn products or anything processed and a bunch of other restrictions. I have been having problems with rectal bleeding for at least 6 weeks. It is worse when I am constipated or have diarrhea. I need to be very careful about my fibre. I cannot tolerate bran or fibre one cereals. Right now I am taking organic clear fibre which is more gentle but still I have to exact on the amount I take. It's a constant battle to keep things on an even keel.I pay a hefty price if I deviate from my diet.

The pain was so bad I took a medical leave for three months. Tomorrow I go back to work and I am still anxious because I still experience extreme discomfort and pain at times.

I think everybody is a little different and has to find what works for them.

    Good Luck and Hugs

I had LIS and Fissurectomy 2 years ago and let me tell you, it hurt like hell, infact it hurt more after the operation than it did before. 2 hours after the procedure I was sent home with very little advice and a diet sheet (crap) oh and some Fybogel which turned out 1.5 years later to give me relief. Anyway, back to the post-op pain, it was a living hell, dropping turds was easier than previously since my sphincter had been cut and was slacker but the burning searing pain was still there after each evacuation, btw sloppy or sticky turds aggravated the problem and I always spent over an hour cleaning up afterwards, I can fully sympathize with anyone in the same predicament, basically it's taken 2 years for me to feel about 95-98% better with very little to no pain, I'm taking Fybogel or Ispaghula Husk every day to help bulk up the stools thus get rid of more in one go and Fybogel makes the turd less sticky and more jelly like, combined with lots of water they just come out easier and most of the time I feel fully evacuated as they don't stick to the rectum which only irritates, on occasion I may have a difficult turd and have to manually remove any debris left over to stop irritation of the LIS site which I've been told could well give me problems for the rest of my life, apparently it can happen to a minority of people that have both LIS and Fissurectomy, ongoing pain is rare but can occur (sad) saying that though, I have reached a comfortable state in 2 years and can live a near normal life, I just have to be careful of some foods. I am scared of a re-tear and to go through all that hell again, don't think I could cope, we have to look after our bottoms, not take them for granted. something I learned sometime ago!

Tell your Dr. to prescribe a cream called KENALOG, I believe or KENOLOG, either way, this stuff took away the incessant itching almost immediately and helped heal my fissure finally after suffering for months with severe pain and horrible itching. But as I learned tonight, you must keep up with fiber and drink plenty of water. I recently had hernia surgery and the painkillers caused me to get constipated and the bleeding started again, but luckily I still have some cream left and I am going to start fiber and water diet immediately! For I do not wish to suffer again with this. Please let me know if this helps, the cream was a God send.

I've been walking a fine line between constipation and diahrea as well it's been so hard to balance what exact I can eat, I notived oatmeal and any type of fish, meat, cheese or processed food item will make me constipated even when eaten with veggies and friit, the only goods I've been able to pass peaceably seems to be; eggs, raw nuts and seeds (only a handful a day), lettuce, greek yogurt, cooked squash, cucumber and oat fibre wraps, pears, apples. Do you have any recommendations on menu plan? So hard to figure out what to eat! I need to firm up my bm a slight bit more but concerned I'll push myself over to the constipation side, suggestions?
