hemorrhoid pain, what to do

I have a compression fracture to my discs from L5-L1 with bulging discs pinching the nerves. The pain was there yet not like this lately. I had a spinal injection done in May of 2012. A little relief for about a month. Then my spine started hurting so had to stop physical therapy. I was hit by a drunk driver last Nov getting out of a parked car which broke out my tooth, minor fractured discs in my neck and lower back as stated above.

I am hands on with my primary care dr and the pain dr. My pain Dr had me on oxycontin15's, Ms Contin 30's, Dilaudid 4mg, methadone and vicodin 10/325. I just take Vicodin 10's 6-8 a day for pain and Valium 10's 50-60 mgs a day. My pain dr keeps switching me from Dilaudid and morphine back to just vicodin now. he did want me on Dilaudid and morphine. I said no " I want to not be so drugged out. Problem is with my spine hurting so bad I tried just walking a 1/2 mile for a few weeks then up 2 a mile and so on till I hit 4 miles a day. I was doing great I thought making progress.

I leaned over on one of my walks to pick up a piece of trash on the ground then heard a loud snapping sound along with a piping sound. Instantly I started getting sore and started to really bug me. The pain kept growing and getting worse over the next few hours. I took the trash out and swept the floor in my shop doing some cleaning up. Nothing heavy. Finally I came in took my pain cocktail and woke up in serious pain. I went to the ER as my hip and lower spine hurt so much. They took xrays and found that my bursca sacs are inflamed which I was given percocet and morphine shot. Follow up with my drs and a orthro surgeon soon. After 4-5 days things cooled down and I was stuck with the normal pain I had after being hit.

On my feet all day. Finally had to ice my hip. Ever since 3+ weeks ago my lower spine is tweaked so is my hip again Now hemorrhoids. Just a small bump on the outside of my anus. Passed a very hard stool that day. It was bright red blood on the baby wipe. Not much just some red spots on the wipes. That went away and left this painful lump. I know exercise helps but I am pretty much bed bound because of I can't stand up straight without major pain. Called my pain doc who said it'll ( the spasm in my spine would go away if I lost weight and exercise! How can I do that if I am crawling on hand and knees just to get into the tub so I can soak with epsom salt.
so alittle brief history.

I am embarrassed to talk to my doctor about my hemorrhoids so called my dad who is a nurse Said Epsom salt baths increase fiber with lots of water
I take senalax for constipation which bloats me so I stopped. What do I do???? Since I can't stand and walk yet what has worked for anyone else? The baths I would take w/ 2-3 cups of epsom salt soak for 30 mins 4-6 times a day. Pat dry and heard to use a hair dryer to completely dry the anus. t started from a grape size down to the size of a tic tac. Even tried prepheration h too. Not much in results.

I had one good day 2 days ago and now back to square one. Help!!! Please.

Re: hemorrhoid pain, what to do

Your issues, minus the back stuff, sound like mine.

I had a earth shattering bowel movement almost a year ago and have been in a bad way ever since. For me, it started with working out. One day after being at the gym I sat down with a good book and started reading then bam! I felt what I describe as a tearing sensation. I ended up, and you may as well, with an anal fissure.

When mine acted up originally it would hurt to have a movement and there would be blood. But after about a week, it would go away. Some time later it would come back, same deal for about a week. Lately, after another painful movement the fissure seemed to not be going away. I also have a lump after I poo. Feels, to me, like I'm sitting on a bruise. With fissures come piles and I figured this to be a pile sitting over top of the fissure. My fissure seems to have healed, at least mostly, but the pile remains. It may be a hemorrhoid or it may still be the fissure acting up.

Act now! Go see a specialist. It's MORE than worth it. I was treated with Dilitizapim (spelling?) originally and that really helped at first. The pile (Swelling) would not be there after a movement. However, I experienced a side effect (your results may vary) of insanely itchy ******** and I couldn't take it. Now I'm on nitroglycerin and that doesn't seem to affect the lump but other than that I'm ok. If it is the start of a fissure, you want it to heal sooner rather than later. Fissures are made worse by spasms. If something in your lower back is somehow causing your anus to spasm as well, it could be bad news and will make things worse. Go Go Go to the colo-rectal surgeon! You have nothing to lose and your life to gain back.
