Fell on 6-7-15 went to ER i have questions

On the 7th of June I fell off a trailor at work breaking my wrist and giving myself a concussion. Things are getting better but I still have problems remembering things that was just said to me and typing them out. Like phone numbers, addresses, and stuff like that. I still have dizzy spells, and light headedness from time to time. I also have been bumping into walls, yes I know they don't move. LOL The one thing that bothers me the most I have been doing since the concussion is continuesly bumping the back of my head, almost in the same area that i hit my head at when I fell. Like getting out of the car after reaching in to get something out that i left inside or hitting my head on a cabinet door. Is this something to be concerned about? Should I talk to the doctor? Or am I just a cluts? Sometimes after I hit my head I get a headache, and get dizzy but it goes away. Am I doing this because of the concussion? Help please! This was a fall at work and I need to know if I continue to tell the doctor or not? It would sound bad if I'm just a cluts!

Absolutely tell the Doctor. Concussions can cause some residual effects that can last awhile. It's best to report anything and everything to the Dr. Not just because it was work related, though that helps with your case, but because you may need further treatment. I would not hesitate.

You probably need an MRI of the brain to make sure there is no swelling or abnormalities. You need to call the doctor and probably should see a neurologist to get checked out.
Im sorry this happened to you- but dont panic. Sometimes residual damage from a concussion takes awhile to heal- but that being said, there could be something going on whch you dont know about. Dont take chances, its been 2 months now- dont let this continue without at least being told that it will get better. ER docs are only treating the first stage of any fall, or disease- its their job to stabilize you, not treat the actual problems. You really need to follow up with at least your general doctor, or you skip it and make a Neurology appointment because thats where you are going to get referred to.
Good luck.

Re: Fell on 6-7-15 went to ER i have questions

I absolutely agree with the info/comments here. I have suffered numerous concussions prior to an accident that caused a live bleed in my brain. The after effects were exponentially made worse by my prior history of concussions, but no one thought to ask, docs included. It has been a long hard road to recover, which is still processing. Be sure you notify your doctor of any previous head injuries, especially concussions, even if they seem minor. They can affect the current head injury situation. A neurologist is the specialist you will need to see, but be sure to follow insurance guidelines, such as prior authorizations, as testing and treatment is not usually cheap in this day and age. Don't be surprised if they want a CT scan and/or an MRI. These are diagnostic tools that can show are of damage. I've had more than I care to count in the past 6.5 yrs following my accident, but each one has shown any changes in neurological functions moving forward since the big accident. Also, be prepared for the wait and see stance. Many docs like this idea. Be sure YOU are comfortable with what the docs are diagnosing and their treatment game plan. When in doubt, get another opinion! Above all else, try to rest, be sure you are getting proper nutrition (many nutrients can help nerve regeneration), and try to protect your head. Those of us with impairment in the brain department, even if short term, need to slow down and take a bit more time when zipping through our daily routines to make sure we protect our injured area(s) in order to give those areas the best chance for a full recovery. Good luck and God bless!

Yes please do tell your doctor everything especially if it's not normal for you. Also note that as you progress through the healing process things will change. Don't listen to people who tell you you'll be back to your usual self in 3 months or whatever. This just sets you up for disappointment. I was told that I'd be back at work in 3 months, 18 years later and I'm not. Healing will happen when it happens. Tell your doctor of all changes. I didn't always because I thought they would think I was a hypercondriact. My mistake. One thing I did notice after my third TBI is that I was more conscious of knocks to my head than before and worried these subsequent knocks would exacerbate my condition. You know your body better than anyone. Despite doctors having the medical knowledge they don't know how you were prior to your injury. Only you and those close to you will notice the changes that can occur after a head trauma. Best of luck.
