    Severe Pain - Arachnoid Cycst

Hello, I was diagnosed with two arachnoid cysts (incidentally discovered after a fall in March 2000). The larger of the two is on my right frontal lobe 3.5 cm at last measure in 2003) and the smallest is situated in the right anterior of my brain. I was initially told unless I had any symptoms that it was best to just leave them alone by my neurosurgeon. I had two more MRI's to check if they had grown but they remained the same at last check back in 2003. I have had a few symptoms, some on and off swirly, dizzy sensations, head aches etc, after the initial concussion from the fall wore off. Last night after orgasm I experienced a severe pain in the right frontal lobe side, so severe I was crying out in pain. This has NEVER happened to me before. This excruciating pain lasted for roughly a minute before dimming down to an aching pain, today I feel tired, off colour not my usual self. Has anyone else experienceed this before with an arachnoid cyst? I am still experiencing dull twinges on the right frontal lobe side. I am not sure what to do about this. Please help.

Re: Severe Pain - Arachnoid Cycst

It probably does mean that the cyst has grown. Headaches, dizziness and the other symptoms are probably related to the cyst. I have an Arachnoid Cyst in the posterior fossa, but it was successfully operated on a few years ago. Maybe you should see a Neurologist and have an MRI, then you will know if it has grown. But it all depends on the Neurologist/Neurosugeon you see, as to wether they will do anything about it.
