    CT Scan Vs. MRI

Over the past six months or so, I've been experiencing strange and uncomfortable physical symptoms, ranging from severe headaches, a plugged left ear, swollen joints around the same ear, and numbness/tingling/buzzing sensations in my hands/arms and legs/feet. I recently had a CT scan of my head done, and it came back normal (thank god!). I also saw an ENT specialist, who said that I'm perfectly healthy, except for a minor nasal obstruction.

Given all these symptoms, I was very concerned about tumors, so the normal CT scan results really gave me a piece of mind. However, I am now afraid that there are many conditions a CT scan would not be able to uncover, such as those related to the nerves in the spinal cord, which I highly suspect is the problem in my case. I have had a slightly crooked/misaligned spine for many, many years, with very tight muscle knots both in my upper and lower back. These have given me severe and chronic spinal pain that I've learned to live with over the years.

I've been doing Bikram's yoga for about a year now, and only over the past several months have my feet, legs, hands, and arms started to feel tingly and buzzing (with a sensation that resembles an electric shock) in almost every yoga posture, even the most simple ones that barely put any direct pressure on these parts. These sensations have been getting progressively worse, and I am now experiencing them sometimes even when I'm just sitting on the couch. I plan on seeing a neurologist about this issue but wonder in the meantime, given all my symptoms, what could an MRI possibly show that the CT scan didn't? I would truly appreciate any input on this matter...

    Thanks.
