can essential tremor lead to anxiety attack or depression

hi dear fellows,
i have familial essential tremor my age is 36 and for the last four months i have a strange fear that something horrible is going to happen which will make me die and when my fear reaches its extreme level i feel a mild horrible shock in my whole body but not any pain now i began to feel a tingling sensation in my brain sometimes and sometimes it turns into pain.
what is it?
what should i do now?
can it be dangerous?
now my sleep has gone when i feel extreme fear most of the time before sleep i take a sleeping pill and go to sleep but i think its not a solution.please help me with ur precious suggestions.

Re: can essential tremor lead to anxiety attack or depression

It seems that anxiety and depression is pretty common with essential tremor as can be other neurological problems.

Are you taking any other medications? Some meds have side effects that can make anxiety and depression worse. I've heard of people having that zapping/shock feeling when taking certain antidepressants.
I believe you need to go back to your doctor, if your doctor isn't a neurologist then you need to get one. You need proper assessment to see how your condition is - if it's progressing at all to cause other symptoms. It would probably also help to see if there's any consoling you can be set up with.
