Chiari Malformation and Singing

This might sound like a silly question, but does anyone with Chiari find it difficult to sing? I'm not sure if this is even a Chiari elation symptom, but I find whenever I try to sing it feels like I am straining my voice. It's awful. I had decompression surgery in April 2011 and a CSF leak repair in July 2011. I never really noticed this symptom before surgery. My Chiari symptoms seemed to be helped by the surgery, but for the past 3 or 4 months symptoms seems to be progressing again and my voice is just one of the things bothering me the most. Has anyone had things progress after surgery? Could this be a sign my brain has dropped more?
