Head Numbness

Hello, I am a 27 year old male and a took a fall on the ice a few years ago. My right foot, leg, the right side of my head and forehead all are numb. I have had a spinal tap and brain scan that ruled out any serious conditions like MS. My doctor prescribed Gabepentin to me as well as anti anxiety medication. Nothing seems to be able to eliminate the numb feeling and the right side of my body seems to be getting worse by the day. Does anyone else share these symptoms or is there a treatment plan that could help me. Doctors dont really seem to have a "fix" and they tell me I need to live with it but it is really hard to do basic daily activities and extremely uncomfortable especially in my head. I have also been very down and depressed about it.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Re: Head Numbness

Hello Jessee,

First of all, I can't believe I found someone with the same nightmare!! You have got to get back to me! I am much older than you. I know exactly how you feel! I am 39, but used Ice for 2 months about 20 years ago, when I was about 19. Ever since then I have had a numbness in the brain that made me feel like part of my brain died! The numbness was just strange in the beginning, but I slowly started to experience memory problems and it seems to get worse as the years go by. (not to worry too much, it was over a period of 20 years and my memory issues are not severe, but enough that it disrupts my day) I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, but am now coming to realize that it's not really that although I have had similar symptoms. I still have no clue what this is, but determined to find out. Like you, I was taking Gabepentin and was told not much I could do. Exercise helps, but does not eliminate it completely. I just went to see my doctor today and am going in for testing. I have done this about 5 years ago, with no answers, so I am going to keep trying. If you found out anything, please let me know. I will let you know I find out anything new.

By the way--glad to hear from someone that I can relate to.
