Bacterial meningitis

My wife had a brain tumour removed in January and a few days later she developed bacterial meningitis and two weeks later she devoloped hydrochopolis she has been extremely unwell.she has had a shunt installed to drain cerebral fluids, there is no white cell infection in brain now but she still has infection somewhere in body it's now going down . She is sleeping 23 hours of day , when she does awake she answers basic commands and questions, she has been through so much in 2 months, is it normal to sleep for so long and could the brain be still swollen after all she has been through
