Vision Issues and Nausea ... brain tumor?

Hi All -- About four years ago, after a lifetime of major nearsightedness, I experienced a retinal detachment, which was successfully treated with laser surgery.

Early last year, I was diagnosed with ocular hypertension and was successfully treated with laser surgery to lower the pressure and decrease my risk for glaucoma.

For the last year, probably since the procedure, I noticed that my vision has been off -- it was particularly noticeable when I wore my contacts. Since I need progressive lenses, I just figured that's the way it was, since my contacts are one for distance and one for close up.

So two weeks ago, I notice that my vision in my left eye had deteriorated more than I thought. When I put my hand over my right eye, everything was quite blurry. I went to see my glaucoma specialist who seemed quite sure it was a cataract causing this -- she didn't notice any change to my retina and my ocular pressure was normal, though slightly elevated from last time. I have an appointment to see my old retinal surgeon to ensure that it's not retina related and I'm also seeing a cataract surgeon in several weeks.

Whenever anything goes wrong, I do get health anxiety. But since this started, I've felt nauseous, slightly headache-y, my ears are ringing and I have convinced myself that it's not really cataracts -- even though it IS my "bad" eye. I've talked myself into thinking I have a brain tumor. Can anyone calm me down? Anyone have a similar experience?

The worst thing you can do is try to self diagnose yourself. Relax and try to take your mind off it by working out, running, or doing other activities that you enjoy. There is no sense of worrying about something you don't have. You are doing the right thing by getting checked out and anxiety has a terrible way of manifesting in different ways.
