it was purely coincidental in my case - I had suffered extreme headaches for years and an opthamalogist (sp?) sent me to a cat scan where an abnormality was found, an MRI was done shortly later, but before the definitive diagnosis came, I went through a sterotactic biopsy. BTW none of the doctors could really confirm that the headaches were caused by the tumor.

There's all kinds of brain tumors and there are all kinds of symptoms. Some tumors are even completely symptomless for decades before they're found. And many common brain-tumor symptoms can be caused by things that have nothing to do with the brain at all.

Like WhyNotMe posted, his tumor was discovered by tests ordered by his eye doctor.

What symptoms are you having that make you think you might have a tumor? There are all kinds of low-income/free-clinical care programs out there that can help you if you do need a CAT or MRI for diagnosis, you just have to find them.
