Difficult husband

My newborn daughter is 12 days old. Teaching her to latch onto my breast and feed correctly has been challenging. For the first week I supplemented with formula and bottled breast milk. Ive been feeding her exclusively by breast for the past 6 days. Yesterday my milk FINALLY came in (engorged breasts). She poops several times a day and is a happy, healthy baby. My husband fights with me every day because he also wants the chance to feed her and he wants to give her a pacifier when she cries. I don't want to create nipple confusion or slow down the production of my milk. Once she is comfortable feeding and on a regular schedule, i dont mind the occasional bottle or binky. I can't hadle the stress of having the same argument several times a day everyday, ESPECIALLY in front of my new baby. It's challenging enough learning how to be a mommy.. now this. What should I do???

Re: Difficult husband

Have you considered making an appontment with a lactation specialist at the hospital where you delivered and taking your husband with you? He needs to hear the facts from a professional, not a new mommy!
Remember that your hormones are completely out of whack right now, so this wont help you win any battles...
Your husband feels left out of this very special bond you have with your baby...try geting him to listen to a specialist; is it possible your OB can set you up with one? Best of luck to you and congratulations!!

Re: Difficult husband

Congratulations on your new baby, how exciting

I know this is a month old now, so I was wondering how you went?
All the best!
