    Breast feeding with herpes??
    Hi all, I just had a dd and I want so badly to breast feed but am worried about giving it to her threw my milk is this possible??
    Or what if I get sore nipples and bleed can she get it threw the blood??
    ANy thoughts or input would be great!!!

    You cannot give herpes to another through milk or blood. Herpes is contracted by touching the site of a sore, either while the sore is there, or a few days before or after. If you get herpes sores on your nipples, then you wouldn't want to breastfeed. If you don't, then don't worry. I have genital herpes and breastfed my healthy babies--who are now healthy young men.

    Yes, you can breastfeed. Honestly, I wouldn't even worry about it if you had it on your nipples, since there is only ONE documented case of a child being infected this way. My sons turned 1 last week and are still nursing
