Hard Fall = Severe Bruising & Painful right leg/knee

I took a hard fall 5 days ago, falling on concrete. I am still having a lot of pain and swelling in my right knee and leg. My entire shin and knee are badly bruised and today I noticed a bright red area around the edge of bruise. I have Coronary Artery Disease and am on daily aspirin regimen. I am also diabetic. I am disabled but do not yet qualify for Medicare. With no insurance, I am reluctant to go to Doctor or ER if not necessary. Any Feedback? Should I be concerned for any complications. I am 58 year old female.

Ice the bruise frequently. You may want to wrap the knee in an ACE bandage if it's swollen. If it's still very painful Monday, call a doctor and make an appointment. If you have a serious knee injury, it should be checked out.

I would get it looked at due to your disabilites. Since it is painful this could be a sign of something more serious. Don't wait too long to see a Dr.
